HMV says turnround on track as sales jump

HMV, the music and books retailer, beat expectations with a sharp rise in sales that vindicated the first phase of its recovery strategy.

The company, which operates the Waterstone’s books chain alongside the HMV entertainment brand, said like-for-like sales rose 10.1 per cent with market share gains across all categories.
