Discounters lure UK shoppers

For more than two decades, German retailers Aldi and Lidl have been trying to get a toehold into the British market.

But the slowing economy and improved formats now means that discount retailers in the UK no longer have to try quite so hard as shoppers swap their M&S baskets for Lidl and Aldi ones in what is becoming known as the flight to frugality.
