Rothschild plans move into private equity

Rothschild plans to make more private equity investments as the family-controlled investment bank seeks to open up new sources of revenue outside its traditional advisory businesses.

Baron David de Rothschild, chairman, has indicated Rothschild wants to build up principal investing into a new core business that would sit alongside its investment banking and commercial banking operations.
