Combative Kroes declares war on 'fat ducks'

Europe's most powerful regulator may be wearing a large, golden brooch shaped like a dove of peace, but the jewellery could not be more misleading.

Neelie Kroes was appointed European Union competition commissioner last year not to make peace, but to continue Brussels' long war on abusive monopolists, murky cartels, anti-competitive mergers and market-distorting state aid.
