Benettons draw fire from regulator

Italy’s market regulator on Friday issued a stinging rebuke to the Benetton family in a dispute over crucial elections at insurer Generali.

Consob, the regulator, sent the famous textiles family a strongly worded opinion that said the Benettons were too closely connected to Generali’s controlling shareholders to count as minority investors in the insurer.
