Olmert case has Israel guessing

Four days after Israel’s prime minister was questioned by senior police officials, the country is still waiting to learn what the latest case against Ehud Olmert is about.

To the frustration of Israel’s media, a court has banned the reporting of the allegations facing Mr Olmert. One Israeli newspaper claimed last week the prime minister was being investigated for accepting illegal campaign contributions from a US businessman, but neither police nor prosecutors have confirmed the report.
