Britain loses appeal to Polish jobseekers

Britain is suddenly looking less attractive to potential migrants looking for a job. Unemployment is rising and the falling value of the pound means they have less money to send home even if they do find work.

The country’s declining appeal was illustrated on Thursday in Home Office figures showing the number of eastern and central Europeans registering for work in the UK had fallen to the lowest level since their countries joined the European Union four years ago.
