Aberdeen works hard to play up its tourist attractions, but for many it is first and foremost the centre of the UK’s oil and gas industry. With the oil price in the stratosphere and oil companies producing record profits, the city is attracting even more interest from finance experts.
“There’s definitely a sense of making hay while the sun shines,” says Jane Setter, an Aberdeen-based manager in the finance team at Michael Page, the recruitment consultants. “We’re finding lots of people are contacting us who want to work in Aberdeen because of that very reason.”
