Condé Nast, the 100-year-old publisher of magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, will shut four titles in a cost-cutting move amid one of publishing's worst advertising declines.
Gourmet, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, and Cookie will cease publication as the company focuses on titles "with the greatest prospects for long-term growth", Chuck Townsend, chief executive of Condé Nast, wrote in a memorandum to employees on Monday. The closures will result in the loss of about 180 jobs.
