Resilient Meggitt expresses caution

Meggitt, the brakes and sensors supplier, reported resilient first-half results as cost-cutting, rising military sales and the advantages of a strong dollar offset weakness in the civil aerospace market.

Revenue in the six months to July rose 11 per cent to £586.4m ($992.9m) compared with the previous year, as currency effects overturned a 9 per cent fall in organic sales.
