Fiat names top executives of new Chrysler

A deal that would create an alliance between Chrysler and Fiat could close as early as Friday, ending the brief tenure of Robert Nardelli at the helm of the struggling Detroit carmaker.

In court testimony at a bankruptcy hearing considering whether to approve the transaction, Mr Nardelli said Chrysler fell into a “death spiral” that scuttled his plans to turn around the company and culminated in its Chapter 11 filing last month.
