Sun's enthusiasm for Labour dims

Eight years ago, morale at Conservative party headquarters was dealt a crushing blow when The Sun, Rupert Murdoch's flagship newspaper, backed Tony Blair the day after the general election was announced.

On Monday, the largest circulation daily delivered an equivocal verdict on Mr Blair's administration in a spread headlined The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
