Investor interest swamps AIG

AIG has been overwhelmed with interest from strategic investors keen to bid for stakes in its flagship assets in Asia, says Mark Wilson, president of the troubled international insurance group’s life-insurance operations in Asia-Pacific.

Mr Wilson said that more than a dozen groups had approached the company after the announcement in New York on Friday that the parent would launch a mammoth divestment programme.
