Iceland remains in front line of turmoil

Icelandic bank shares and the krona remained under fire in the wake of the government's rescue of Glitnir bank on Monday amid fears that the country's financial crisis could spread.

The collapse in Glitnir's share price has raised worries about the knock-on effects in the small island economy, where financial institutions and companies are closely linked through share holdings and loans.
