Forint takes hit on funding fears

Emerging market currencies were thrust into the line of fire this week as the fears gripping global markets escalated.

A combination of funding fears and worries over global growth proved to be a potent mix. The hardest-hit currencies were those of countries with high current account deficits, which need funding through the global financial system.
