Divisions in EU over Guantánamo plans

European Union interior ministers on Thursday sketched out broad guidelines of a plan to assist the US deal with prisoners released from Guantánamo Bay.

But beyond welcoming the closure of the camp – one of the Obama administration’s first moves in office – no common European position emerged over where or how former detainees would be hosted.
