Tips to cut through the hype

After being written off as another broken promise of the 1990s technology bubble, the hype surrounding TMT (telecoms, media and technology) convergence is back.

Just as many internet companies have quietly matured into viable businesses, so convergence activity has been cautiously gaining ground. This is because, in spite of the costly failures - perhaps best symbolised by Time Warner’s merger with America Online (AOL) - the digital technology underlying those promises has continued evolving.
