Stagecoach in dispute over cash for SWT

Stagecoach, one of Britain’s biggest train operators, is facing millions of pounds of losses if a dispute with the government over compensation for its South Western Trains franchise is not resolved.

The conflict, which underscores the difficulties faced by train operators as the recession bites into ticket sales, centres around the amount of revenue support that Stagecoach receives from the government.
