Virgin appoints UBS as adviser

Virgin Media has appointed UBS to advise it on a sale of its television channels businesses that could be worth up to £500m ($709m).

Virgin Media Television includes Virgin’s 50 per cent stake in the cable channels business UKTV, valued at up to £350m, over which its partner BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the publicly funded broadcaster, holds a right of first refusal.
