Shareholders demand clarity for share issues

UK investment institutions are showing growing signs of suffering from a surfeit of share issues.

Last week some of them displayed little appetite when Pearson, owner of the FT, tested their willingness to back a £270m ($396m) share placing equivalent to about 5 per cent of the group’s current market capitalisation.
