Swiss Re bucks falling European markets

Swiss Re was one of the clearest winners in jittery European equity markets this week after posting a clean bill of health with its 2007 results as the aftershocks of the credit crisis continued to reverberate.

The world’s largest reinsurer shot up 9.1 per cent to SFr84.1 over the week after fourth-quarter profits fell less than analysts had estimated.
