COMPANIES When inspectors from the Food and Drug Administration visited two Indian factories owned by Ranbaxy this year, they identified a catalogue of concerns that sparked this week’s ban of 31 drugs they manufactured for export to the US.
The details – made public on the regulator’s website – will prove uncomfortable reading for Ranbaxy, not to mention Daiichi Sankyo, the Japanese pharmaceutical group which is in the process of buying the company.
