Advisers urge fast action on speed limiters

Fitting cars with speed controllers could cut road injuries by a quarter and reduce air pollution, two transport advice bodies told the government on Tuesday.

Intelligent speed adaptation (ISA) uses satellite positioning and in-car technology to keep vehicles within speed limits, either through autonomous braking or warning systems that drivers can override.
