Equatorial Guinea pardons Simon Mann

Simon Mann, a British former special forces officer jailed in oil-rich Equatorial Guinea for his part in a botched coup, has been pardoned.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema, the autocratic president, granted Mr Mann “a full pardon on humanitarian grounds”, according to a decree posted on the information ministry’s website on Tuesday.
