Zimbabwe power sharing deal reached

Thabo Mbeki, South Africa’s president, emerged from four days of negotiations in Harare on Thursday night saying he had won agreement from Zimbabwe’s rival political forces to share power.

The South African leader gave few details of the deal, which earlier in the day had appeared to be slipping away, saying only that ”an agreement has been reached about all the matters on the agenda of the negotiations”.
