Extra £70m to be pumped into health and social care

More than £70m is to be pumped into supporting social enterprises in health and social care over the next four years, Ivan Lewis, the health minister announced yesterday.

But the government's increasing use of the voluntary and not-for-profit sector to provide public services - and whether that really provides value for money - is to be subject to parliamentary scrutiny.
