Kenya leaders fail to break cabinet deadlock

The fragility of the political truce that ended Kenya’s post-election crisis was laid bare over the weekend as a deal on the membership of a new cabinet appeared to unravel.

Five weeks after a power-sharing agreement signed by the president and the opposition leader, the two men were due to make a long-awaited announcement on the 40-member cabinet yesterday afternoon.
