Do we need to think again about globalisation in the wake of the financial crisis? Almost certainly yes. One of the few good things about the crisis is that it should have made fresh thinking possible.

Leading businesses and managers do not wait for crises to concentrate their minds. Successful strategies will have left them better placed than their competitors over the past two years and they will try and build on that lead.
