Australian groups face legal action

Four Australia-listed groups savaged in the stock market in response to the global credit crisis face the prospect of shareholder class-action lawsuits after a litigation specialist agreed to underwrite legal costs.

IMF Australia, a litigation financier, said on Wednesday it would fund claims against Allco Finance Group, MFS, Centro Properties and Centro Retail over alleged breaches of their “continuous disclosure obligations” between August 2007 and early 2008.
