Lord Browne, former chief executive of BP, is making a comeback in the energy industry, claiming that financial market turbulence has created an opportunity to pick up assets at attractive prices.

He has joined Riverstone Holdings, a US private equity firm that invests in energy businesses, as a managing partner based in London but operating globally. He will specialisein alternative and renewable energy.
