Phorm, the internet advertising technology company, has begun a charm offensive with consumers with the launch of a free service called Discover that will automatically show links to internet news and pages users may be interested in, based on their browsing habits.
It works much like the recommendation service of Amazon.com, which suggests books customers might want to buy based on past purchases. However, Phorm’s Discover service, which is expected to be offered in the UK by internet operators BT, Virgin Media and Carphone Warehouse, will pull in pages from across the internet.
