Ghosn wants bigger EU role in car bail-outs

Carlos Ghosn on Wednesday urged the European Union to take a more proactive role in co-ordinating aid for the continent’s ailing carmakers in the face of nationally-led bail-out plans.

While acknowledging that one or more European carmakers could fail soon, Mr Ghosn, chief executive of Renault and Nissan, also warned against the danger of individual governments intervening on behalf of carmakers.
