Micro Focus acquires software testing assets

Micro Focus International has taken advantage of its strength in the downturn with the acquisition of two US companies for a total of $133m (£88.4m) to move into the automated software testing market.

The application modernisation software group is to buy Nasdaq-traded Borland Software for $75m and the testing and automated software quality business of Compuware for about $58m.
