KKR Financial plans share sale

KKR Financial, a unit of KKR, the US private equity group, yesterday moved to bolster its finances after losses on its mortgage portfolio.

It announced plans to raise up to $500m by selling shares to investors including Morgan Stanley and Farallon Capital.
