IMF cuts global growth estimate to 4.8%

The International Monetary Fund has cut its estimate for global growth next year but still expects the world economy to grow at 4.8 per cent, according to reports published in the Italian press.

The reports said the IMF had cut the forecast by 0.4 percentage points from its previous estimate of 5.2 per cent in response to the credit market turmoil.
