The horseracing industry is to add more than 100 races to the calendar as a concession to bookmakers following an 11th-hour deal between the two warring sides over the annual levy paid by betting companies towards the sport.
Months of bitterness and rancour were put to one side to avoid a repeat of last year's failed negotiations which forced an irritated sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe to determine the payment.
