Warburg Pincus takes big stake in Premier

Warburg Pincus on Friday emerged as one of the largest shareholders in Premier Foods after the owner Mr Kipling, Bisto and Hovis completed a £380m share placing.

The US-based private equity group owns 13.75 per cent of the enlarged share capital as a result of the placing and will be entitled to nominate a board member.
