Asian shares fall to five-week low

Korean shares led a decline by Asia-Pacific stocks to their lowest in five weeks on Thursday as worsening economic data in the US and Japan coupled with rekindled fears about the global financial system weighed heavily on sentiment.

Fears about the health of Citigroup and Bank of America added to grim news from Deutsche Bank that it would make its first annual loss in 50 years took its toll on financials across the region.
