Icelandic krona sinks as yen soars

Crisis turned to capitulation in the currency markets on Monday after bail-out fears drove the Icelandic krona to record lows, while turmoil on global equity markets drove investors to the safety of the Japanese yen.

The Icelandic krona sank amid fears that the country’s financial affairs were in such a mess that foreign investment would dry up.
