Small businesses welcome finance scheme

Small businesses have welcomed the chancellor’s package of tax cuts and financial support for small businesses, but raised fears over the increases in taxes in the pipeline to restore the public finances.

The Federation of Small Businesses was particularly pleased with the creation of a £1bn small business finance scheme to shore up working capital for otherwise strong businesses. Such funding has become harder to find in recent months, with small businesses facing stringent conditions, higher interest rates or even denied credit completely.
