Companies seek out alternative funds

A social enterprise set up to help victims of loan sharks and people without bank accounts has found itself helping small businesses that cannot get credit from high street lenders.

Faisel Rahman, who founded Fair Finance to help some of the poorest in society, said that most of the companies coming to him only needed a few thousand pounds. Some of those requesting funds came from careers in the City, he added.
