Temasek eyes further investment in western banks despite losses

Temasek Holdings, the Singapore state investment company, is prepared to invest more in western financial groups in spite of suffering paper losses on investments in Merrill Lynch and Barclays, Suppiah Dhanabalan, Temasek chairman, said yesterday.

"If there's an opportunity, we would like to look at it. Whether we do it depends on our assessment and risk diversification," he said.
