Malaysia PM’s reforms face setback

Abdullah Badawi, the Malaysian prime minister, has announced in the past week his biggest burst of reforms since taking office in 2003 as he seeks to stop an erosion in public support.

However, the effort may be too late as opposition mounts within the ruling United Malays National Organisation after the government suffered its biggest electoral setback in 50 years.
