UK house prices continue to cool

Annual growth in house prices slowed for a sixth consecutive month in February as tighter lending practices and greater economic uncertainty weighed on demand, figures from Halifax showed on Thursday.

The UK’s biggest mortgage lender, said house prices fell 0.3 per cent last month, taking the quarter on quarter growth rate to 0.2 per cent and the annual rate of increase down to 4.2 per cent, the lowest since October 2005.
