Bolivia’s president has vowed to press on with his nationalisation programme by returning the country’s dominant telecommunications company to state control 10 years after it was opened to foreign investors.
Evo Morales said at the weekend that his government was looking at the best way to nationalise Entel, which is majority-owned by Telecom Italia. Italy’s biggest telecoms company took a controlling stake in the company when it was capitalised in 1996.
