Overview: Euro sinks while bonds rally after ECB

The euro fell to a fresh seven-week low against the dollar and European government bonds rose sharply as concerns about the outlook for the eurozone economy intensified.

The European Central Bank left interest rates unchanged and Jean-Claude Trichet, president, acknowledged that growth was weakening, although he stressed that inflation was the ECB’s overriding concern.
