Clerical Medical is under fire for fees on late top-up

Amajor pension provider has come under fire for levying a 10 per cent fee  on policyholders who try to boost their pension funds near retirement.

Clerical Medical – a division of HBOS – takes the cut from one-off contributions, as opposed to regular payments, made by policyholders in the two years before retirement.
