Oil slips while gold consolidates

Oil sank on Tuesday, after hitting a record high in the previous session, as energy and metals prices weakened ahead of the US Federal Reserve rates meeting.

Nymex December West Texas Intermediate fell $3.15 to $90.38 a barrel amid profit-taking. It reached a record $93.80 in the previous session.
