Property executives often joke that they enjoy investing overseas because it gives them a chance to fly to an exotic city and eat fine food on expenses. But one can hardly accuse them of this in many parts of eastern Europe - unless they have a penchant for goulash or soup with liver dumplings.
However, the industry has been increasingly drawn to the region by the attractive returns. Activity in eastern and central European markets has accelerated as new or potential EU members emerge. Economic growth in the region looks strong.
