The Financial Times today announced the appointment of Tyler Brûlé as columnist for FT Weekend. Brûlé joins from the International Herald Tribune where he wrote a weekly column. He is rejoining FT Weekend to revive his popular weekly column ‘Fast Lane’. His first column will be due to appear in the April 26 / 27 2008 edition of FT Weekend.
Brûlé will once again be providing insights based on his observations on travel, trends and high-end consumer goods gathered in the course of his travels during the week. His column will act as the counter-point to Harry Eyre’s ‘Slow Lane’ column. Recognised as one of the most influential design journalists, having founded Wallpaper, Brûlé will provide FT Weekend’s readers with his unique thoughts on the industry.
Brûlé commented, “It is with great pleasure that I have agreed to return to the Financial Times. I always enjoyed writing my column and I hope that I can continue to provide the readers with a valuable insight into the world of design and travel.”
Andrew Davis, editor of FT Weekend commented, “We are very pleased that Tyler is returning to FT Weekend. During his previous spell here the Fast Lane proved extremely popular and I’m sure readers will be glad to see to it return. We are looking forward to working with Tyler again.”
Brûlé is the founder and editor-in-chief of Monocle, a monthly magazine specialising in original coverage of global affairs, business, culture and design, and published internationally via print, web and video.
